Team

Andrei Marin – Expedition leader

Co-founder of Symbolya, Andrei is a passionate backpack traveler, always trying to mingle as much as possible into the local culture. He came up with the idea for Symbolya after a trip to Sri Lanka.

He graduated Computer Science at Polytechnic University of Bucharest and still remembers the “old good” developer days. He moved towards management positions, most recently leading several development teams within Siemens. Andrei lives in Bucharest, Romania.

Cristina Marin – Tour planner

Co-founder of Symbolya,  Cristina shares Andrei’s joy for experiencing new cultures. Previously she  worked for Orange and spent 18 months in Germany learning German.

She considers animals as her close friends and helps them on every occasion; of course she does not eat “friends” (read “meat”). In her spare time she also enjoys blogging about online shopping market in Romania (Adelle). Cristina lives in Bucharest, Romania.

Andrei Bocan – Spinach on board

Andrei uses his nimble fingers to write pretty ruby code. He likes to be always up-to-date and “has to” try and hack anything new. Andrei lives in Bucharest, Romania.

Irina Dumitrascu – Almost_geek, girl

Irina is a web developer currently working from somewhere in South America. She is test-infected, thrives when developing interesting apps and plays well on both server’s and client’s side.

In her spare time, she is studying eco subjects and writes about them, and enjoys backpack-traveling and dancing.
